“Just Do It!” vs. “Dough It!”

“Just do it!” vs. “Dough it!”

And other aggressive mark oppositions.

Nike Inc. brought on opposition against Batterlicious Cookie Dough Co. for likelihood of confusion. Nike has been aggressive in opposing marks it deems similar to its famous slogan:

  • Just Taste It!
  • Just Beer It!
  • Just Weld It!
  • Just Beat It!
  • Just Choose It!

Similarly, Monster Energy Co. has opposed trademark applications for Dent Monster and Monster 500.

Anheusr Busch has opposed a trademark application for “Bud King of Hydroponics” FN after recently winning an opposition for Winebud for wine.

FN Opposition no. 91226863

It is tempting to play off the popularity of marketing/promotions of other companies. However, it can get you into hot water. An experienced Trademark attorney can help you navigate these shark-infested waters.
