Tasting of Spirits

When offering tastings of spirits, each patron is limited to three 0.25 oz tastings in a calendar day and each of the samples cannot have anything added to it. In other words, no cocktails or mixed drinks can be used for the tasting. The spirits must be pure and unadulterated.

Liquor Stores may offer tastings of spirits they have for sale. They may not offer tastings of a new product before it is for sale in order to take the pulse of customers and see if the product might be popular enough to sell if it was purchased.

The Licensing Unit advised that farm distilleries serving tastings must have readily available foods intended to compliment the tasting and that do not require tableware.
